Our client is a market-leading building services and facilities management provider dedicated to sustainability and workplace safety. They are currently seeking a Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to join their regional team.

Role Overview


As a Mobile HVAC Engineer, you will deliver high-quality planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown support across multiple commercial sites in London and the South East. You will act as the face of the business, working independently or as part of a team to ensure zero downtime for clients' critical temperature-controlled environments.


Key Responsibilities


  • Maintenance & Repair: Maintain, fault-find, and repair a wide range of portable and fixed A/C systems, refrigeration units, and chiller plants.
  • Compliance & F-Gas: Conduct leak checks, calculate GWPs/CO2e, and keep site F-Gas logbooks up to date. Handle waste certificates and cylinder returns.
  • Service Works: Recover, pressure test, vacuum dehydrate, charge, and re-commission systems. Oversee specialist subcontractors during site visits.
  • Digital Logging: Report defects and complete daily job sheets and PPM logs in real-time using a PDA/tablet via CAFM systems.
  • Client Relations: Act professionally on-site, discuss technical findings clearly with customers, and assist managers with quote details.
  • On-Call Rota: Participate in the contract’s out-of-hours call-out rota to provide emergency support.


You will regularly work on systems including:


  • Splits, VRV/VRF, CRAC, VAV, and FAT boxes
  • Wet and dry chiller systems
  • Cold rooms and freezers
  • Air Handling Units (AHUs), pumps, and cooling towers
  • Basic Building Management Systems (BMS) and controls


Requirements & Qualifications


  • Certification: City & Guilds 2079-11 F-Gas Category 1 and ODS regulations (Essential).
  • Education: NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
  • Apprenticeship: Recognised EITB, CITB, or similar approved training.
  • Driving Licence: Full, clean UK driving licence for mobile coverage.
  • Skills: Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematic drawings.
  • Experience: Proven track record maintaining multi-manufacturer equipment. xwzovoh L8 Legionella awareness and IOSH/NEBOSH certifications are highly advantageous.
