Financial Controller – Exclusive
About the role
An established infrastructure-focused organisation is seeking an experiencedFinancial Controller to join its leadership team. This is a key role within the business, providing strategic financial oversight while supporting operational performance, business planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding financial decision‑making, strengthening financial controls, and partnering with senior stakeholders to support the organisation’s long‑term objectives.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will oversee a team of 4 and provide leadership across financial reporting, planning, compliance, and commercial analysis.
This role requires a commercially minded finance professional who can balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution. You will work closely with department heads and executive leadership to deliver meaningful financial insights, drive efficiencies, and support organisational growth.
*This is a 12mth maternity cover contract.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the finance function, providing strategic and operational financial leadership.
- Oversee management reporting, statutory accounts, and financial performance analysis.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning processes.
- Develop financial models and insights to support business growth and investment decisions.
- Drive profitability, cash flow optimisation, and cost‑efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax obligations, and internal governance requirements.
- Manage relationships with auditors, lenders, and other key external stakeholders.
- Lead finance systems, process improvements, and team development to enhance performance and efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Experience in a senior finance leadership position.
- Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting standards and taxation.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast‑paced environment.
