About the role

I am hiring a Senior Technical Services Manager to lead the Hard FM/engineering function across a large acute healthcare PFI estate in Lancashire.

This is a senior leadership role with 3 - 4 direct reports and subject-matter experts across the wider technical team, responsible for the safe, compliant and reliable operation of critical hospital infrastructure 24/7.


Location: On site, Lancashire


What you'll be doing:

  • Leading and managing the Hard FM/engineering function across the hospital estate
  • Directly managing, developing and performance-managing engineering staff
  • Ensuring statutory, contractual and healthcare compliance across the site
  • Overseeing PPM, reactive maintenance and critical engineering workstreams
  • Ensuring engineers and contractors hold appropriate competency and Competent Person appointments
  • Acting as/overseeing Appointed Person and Responsible Person duties (L8, pressure systems, LV/HV)
  • Leading internal audits, assurance activity and technical reporting
  • Identifying training and development needs across the technical team
  • Working with client and operational teams on complex technical and non-technical issues
  • Driving continuous improvement, asset reliability and operational excellence


What you'll need:

  • Significant senior engineering/technical services management experience
  • Proven direct management of engineering/Hard FM teams
  • Experience managing critical infrastructure/complex estates
  • Strong understanding of statutory compliance and engineering standards
  • Strong people-management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary xwzovoh teams and specialist contractors
  • Mechanical, electrical or fabric background considered; mechanical healthcare bias preferred but not essential
  • Acute healthcare and PFI/PPP experience desirable, not essential
  • Candidates at strong management level looking for a step up will also be considered


Package:

  • Salary up to £65,000 per annum
  • Car allowance/company vehicle
