Position Title: Support Worker (Female Only) Location: Bath (BA2) Hourly Rate: £13.00 per hour Hours Per Week: Bank Vacancy Type: Permanent Job Reference: SOLOSHL ABOUT THE ROLE I am 54-year-old woman who lives at home with my assistance dog. I have a condition called Morquio-Brailsford syndrome, which means that I have several complex needs including skeletal dysplasia and respiratory failure. I am looking for a team of Personal Assistants with a caring, patient nature to join my team and get to know me, understand my complex needs and supporting me in my daily life. My condition means that I require support with all aspects of my daily routine and the suitable candidate will need to be able to support me with various tasks throughout the day, these include but are not limited to personal care, meal preparation, feeding, administering of medication and household tasks. I will also need support with my night routine, ensuring a relaxing and calm bedtime routine. I must also wear a CPAP machine overnight to support my breathing. I enjoy art, travel and my home. I am also keen to return to my studies and complete my PhD in Ethics and would love to join my choir again. ABOUT YOU All applicants must be comfortable with dogs, as my assistance dog is essential to my care and is extremely important to me. I am looking for someone who understands my medical problems and can also provide emotional support. I would also like someone who can encourage me to maintain my independence. I do get anxious, so I will need you to reassure me and calm me down when I get stressed. You must be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity and respect my home. You will be required to work flexibly, and your working hours will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays. The shift could be up to 24 hours long.
