About the role

Overview

United Infrastructure seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support growing workload within the Commercial area of our business. This is a site-based role based in Argyll, Scotland.

Responsibilities

  • Post award contract administration including ensuring payment applications and invoices are prepared in a timely and accurate manner to include full contract entitlement; ensure scope of delivery is understood by the contract management team and changes are captured in contract variations/amendments; commercial administration files are established and maintained; and correspondence is properly documented.
  • Timely provision of commercial/contract deliverables such as bonds, PCGs, evidence of insurance and reporting.
  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of project commercial plans including commercial strategy, subcontracting commercial strategy, and profit improvement plans.
  • Regular cost analysis to maximize recoverable costs, minimize disallowable costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure adequate cost accruals and provisions are in place.
  • Ensure that all commercial related DOA matters are correctly approved and documented.
  • Preparation of project cashflow forecasts, expenditure, invoice preparation, and expediting of payments in accordance with client contract requirements for UI processes and procedures.
  • Developing Subcontracting commercial strategy in conjunction with Project management, Supply Chain and other functions as required.
  • Preparation and analysis of inputs to key contract and internal project reporting requirements and participation in internal project reviews.
  • Developing robust project forecasts in conjunction with the project team.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies along with appropriate professional qualification (preferred).
  • Knowledge, Skills, And Experience: Substantial demonstrated experience within a QS or Senior QS role preferably gained from a transmission and distribution overhead lines background although not essential.
  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts.
  • Awareness of all relevant corporate and project procedures.
  • Proven experience in contract administration including change management.
