HGV Shunter Driver

This role offers ad-hoc shifts! Shift pattern: 6pm to 6am Your Time at Work As an HGV Shunter Driver, you will be moving loads from the customer's local factory to the Melksham warehouse. Main duties include: - Completing vehicle and trailer checks at shift start, to ensure all equipment is road legal and suitable for the task - Using automated bays to load and offload the trailer - Ensuring the factory is kept clear of loads throughout the shift - Liaising with the factory and warehouse to understand what is required throughout the day - Ensuring that site rules at both sites are adhered to at all times - Using an agreed route, between the factory and the warehouse, through the local villages. - Driving responsibly throughout the route - Manual recording of trip information throughout the day - Reporting any issues to the Shift Manager - Assisting with occasional vehicle movements in yard Our Perfect Worker Our perfect worker will have a full and clean Class 1 driving licence, a digital tachograph card and an understanding of how it works, and a driver's CPC Applicants will have good knowledge of drivers' hours and WTD and have experience working within an FMCG environment.
