About the role
Job Description
While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.
A highly regarded international firm with particular strength across the energy, infrastructure and transport sectors is looking to add a 3-5 PQE Corporate Associate to its London team.
The corporate practice advises an impressive mix of private equity and infrastructure funds, major corporates, investors and other market participants. The team regularly acts on significant domestic and international transactions, with a particularly strong track record in the firm's core sectors.
The successful candidate can expect a genuinely broad corporate practice, encompassing M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions, corporate finance, strategic investments and joint ventures, alongside wider corporate advisory work. There is a significant international dimension to the practice, with lawyers working closely with colleagues across the firm's global network on complex cross-border transactions.
At 3-5 PQE, this is an opportunity to take on increasing responsibility for transactions and client relationships while continuing to work closely with experienced partners. The team encourages Associates to develop their own sector expertise as they progress and is supportive of business development initiatives and, where appropriate, client secondments. There is also a strong emphasis on training and career development.
Candidates should ideally have:
- Around 3-5 years' PQE gained within the corporate practice of a well-regarded City, international or leading regional firm;
- Strong technical experience across corporate transactions, ideally including M&A and/or private equity work;
- An interest in the firm's core sectors, particularly energy, infrastructure and transport;
- The ability and confidence to take ownership of matters and work with increasing autonomy; and
- A commercial, flexible and hands-on approach to clients and transactions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Corporate Associate to join an expanding international practice offering sophisticated transactional work, meaningful responsibility and considerable scope to develop within the team.
