Cyber Security Engineer
Typically, this person will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining cyber security across both internal and customer environments.
The role focuses on securing network infrastructure, responding to security incidents, monitoring threats, ensuring compliance with industry standards and providing technical expertise across the business.
Working closely with IT, Engineering and Compliance teams, the Cyber Security Engineer will help protect critical systems supporting satellite communications, maritime and government customers.

Duties and responsibilities of the Cyber Security Engineer: Develop and maintain information security plans, policies and procedures Implement and manage security controls across internal and customer networks Monitor SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS systems and other security tools for threats and vulnerabilities Investigate and resolve cyber security incidents and security alerts Carry out vulnerability assessments and recommend security improvements Design, build, test and troubleshoot network security solutions Provide third-line technical support for complex cyber security issues Produce and maintain technical documentation, security policies and configuration guides Work closely with Engineering and IT teams to ensure secure network design and operation Participate in incident management and continual security improvement initiatives Some of the technologies and platforms you may be working with include: Cisco Firewalls Cisco Routers Cisco Switches Juniper Platforms SIEM Solutions IDS/IPS Vulnerability Management Tools Penetration Testing Tools Computer Forensic Tools ISO27001 Compliance ITIL Qualifications and requirements for the Cyber Security Engineer: Strong experience with Cisco Firewalls, Routers and Switches Experience with Juniper networking platforms Hands-on knowledge of SIEM, IDS/IPS and vulnerability management Experience carrying out or supporting penetration testing activities Understanding of ISO27001, GDPR and ITIL best practices Ability to communicate technical cyber security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance Desirable Experience Telecommunications industry experience Satellite Communications (Satcom) Maritime communications UK MOD or Government network environments Benefits Opportunity to become the cyber security specialist within the business Work on secure global satellite and maritime communication networks Exposure to defence, government and commercial customer environments Ongoing training and professional development Career progression within an international organisation Collaborative engineering and technical environment
