Job Description

Hybrid Role – 2 Days/week required in the office

Sunday to Thursday shift

Full-time

City: Belfast

Ideal role for an advanced CCNA or a CCNP level engineer looking to expand their knowledge of network, security and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as first responder, helping to organize and control incident response.
  • Day to day monitoring and management of our platforms to ensure that internal SLAs, operational KPIs and quality standards are met.
  • Handling complex technical support issues.
  • Ability to support network faults to conclusion in a multi‑vendor, multi‑appliance infrastructure.
  • Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve incidents and service requests.
  • Day‑to‑day Technical Operations activities, including network and firewall troubleshooting, scripting changes, infrastructure and firmware updates.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Contribute to the overall development of the operational systems and processes.
  • Maintain accurate troubleshooting records through industry standard ticketing systems.
  • Write technical SOPs and other documentation.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience in a fast‑paced, enterprise NOC role (minimum 2nd or 3rd line experience).
  • In‑depth support experience of LAN & WAN technologies.
  • Exposure to firewalls, and load balancing with an understanding of security posture, firewalling, ACLs, industry best practice, and Internet architectures.
  • VPN: IPSec and SSL.
  • Understanding of wireless technologies.
  • Experience with ISO and ITIL standards.
  • Experience supporting or working with cloud technologies.
  • Enterprise firewall certification (Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).
  • Toolset management experience (SolarWinds, or similar).
  • WCA (Wireshark Certified) – or experience with hardware‑based packet capture systems.
