The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of Lewisham College for dedicated SEND Learning Support Workers to support students with the highest levels of need within the college setting.
This is an incredibly rewarding role where you will work directly with students aged 16–25, helping them to access learning, develop independence and achieve their potential in a safe and supportive environment.
The Role
As a SEND Learning Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to students with a range of complex additional needs. No two days will be the same – support requirements and working days may vary depending on the individual student you are supporting.
This role requires someone who is:
Caring, patient and compassionate
Positive, adaptable and solution-focused
Confident supporting students with high levels of need
Comfortable with personal care responsibilities where required
Passionate about helping young people thrive
You will be expected to build positive relationships with students, promote independence and provide support both inside and outside of the classroom.
Key Information
Location: Lewisham College
Hours: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Working Pattern: Likely to be 4 – 5 days per week
Students Supported: Young people aged 16–25
Support Needs: Needs and working days will vary according to the student being supported
Personal Care: This role will involve personal care
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates who have:
Experience working within an SEN/SEND school environment
Experience in a care or support setting
A genuine passion for supporting individuals with additional needs
A strong work ethic and a flexible, can-do attitude
Experience using British Sign Language (BSL) or Makaton would be highly advantageous, although not essential.
Salary
Working hours are expected to range between 26–35 hours per week, depending on student needs and timetable requirements
Equivalent to approximately £24,025 – £32,341 per annum (full-year equivalent)
