The Company

Our client is a well-established global provider of in-vitro diagnostic solutions, supporting healthcare professionals and laboratories worldwide. With a strong commitment to quality, innovation and reliability, the business plays an important role in improving clinical decision-making and patient care. As the organisation continues to develop its IT infrastructure and services, it is looking to strengthen its internal IT team.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an Infrastructure Engineer to join the IT team, reporting directly to the IT Manager. You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the organisation's UK-wide IT infrastructure, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable and efficient. The role will involve hands-on management of Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, networking, Sophos security and Veeam backups. You will troubleshoot infrastructure issues, manage updates and changes, support disaster recovery and compliance activities, maintain technical documentation and develop PowerShell scripts to improve processes. You will also act as an escalation point for IT Technicians, work with external support partners and contribute to ongoing infrastructure projects.

The Person

We are looking for a proactive and technically capable Infrastructure Engineer with proven experience in a hands-on infrastructure support or administration role. You will have a good working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualisation, networking, firewalls and backup solutions, ideally with experience of Sophos, Veeam and Microsoft Intune. A working knowledge of PowerShell scripting, hybrid identity environments and IT security best practice would be advantageous. You will be a confident problem-solver, able to work independently, prioritise competing demands and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues. A methodical approach, strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
