Fire Installation & Commissioning Engineer

£40,000 per annum + Overtime and Expenses Location
Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, London We are seeking an experienced
Fire Installation & Commissioning Engineer
to install, test, commission and hand over fire alarm, detection, emergency lighting and associated fire-protection systems across commercial, industrial and residential properties. Key Responsibilities Install conventional and addressable fire alarm, detection, emergency lighting and associated fire-protection systems. Commission, test and fault-find systems in accordance with relevant British Standards and company procedures. Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and wiring diagrams. Complete commissioning certificates, test records, service reports and handover documentation. Configure cause-and-effect programming where required. Diagnose and resolve on-site technical issues efficiently. Commission integrated fire and life-safety systems. Liaise with clients, site managers, subcontractors and internal teams. Provide customers with guidance on the operation of installed systems. Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and compliance. About You Proven experience installing and commissioning fire alarm and associated fire-protection systems. Experience working with conventional and addressable fire alarm systems. Good working knowledge of BS 5839, BS 5266 and applicable fire-safety regulations. Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills. Experience with a range of fire alarm panels and equipment manufacturers. Good understanding of electrical systems and site-based installation practices. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Able to work independently and as part of a project team. Full UK driving licence. Willing to travel nationwide as required. Desirable Skilled Worker CSCS or ECS card. FIA Level 3 training. FIA Emergency Lighting training. Manufacturer-specific training. IPAF or PASMA certification. Experience working on construction and refurbishment projects. Experience commissioning integrated fire and life-safety systems.
