About the role
The CatchUp Academy is delighted to be working in partnership with a supportive secondary school to recruit an enthusiastic and creative Qualified Teacher to work with three Year 9 students who are currently unable to access mainstream lessons.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys thinking differently, building positive relationships and helping young people rediscover their confidence in learning.
The Role
* Location: Community-based provision in the SO41 area
* Start Date: September 2026
* Students: Three Year 9 learners on a 1:1 basis
* Subjects: Broad curriculum delivered through engaging, practical learning experiences
About the Students
The students have found it difficult to engage within a traditional classroom environment and require a fresh, personalised approach to learning. They are capable young people who respond best to adults who are calm, patient and able to build trusting relationships.
Success in this role is not about standing at the front of a classroom delivering lessons. Instead, you'll inspire learning through practical activities, real-life experiences and creative curriculum delivery that develops confidence, curiosity and resilience.
Every day will be different, offering the opportunity to adapt learning around students' interests while helping them achieve meaningful academic and personal progress.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Builds positive, trusting relationships with young people.
* Brings energy, creativity and flexibility to their teaching.
* Enjoys delivering learning through practical, hands-on activities.
* Can motivate students who have become disengaged from education.
* Maintains high expectations whilst creating a calm and supportive learning environment.
* Works collaboratively with school staff and families.
Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference. You'll be working closely with a forward-thinking school that is committed to providing alternative pathways for students who need something different to thrive.
If you enjoy seeing young people regain confidence, celebrate small successes and develop a love of learning, this role offers the chance to have a lasting impact on their educational journey.
Every positive interaction, every breakthrough and every achievement will help shape a brighter future for these students.
If you're an experienced teacher looking for a rewarding role where relationships matter as much as results, we'd love to hear from you.
