Salary: £41,986 pro rata per annum

Contract: Permanent

Work pattern: 39 hours per week Monday-Friday

Location: Bilston

Our Repairs team, based at our Bilston workshop,delivers repairs, maintenance and investment services for customers in Wheatley Homes East properties, as well as for people living in Wheatley’s other subsidiaries in the east of Scotland.

About the role

We now have a great opportunity to join our team as a Gas Engineer/Plumber.

You will be responsible for providing a professional plumbing and gas service which meets legislative and building regulation compliance. This role will also require assisting with multi-trade tasks as and when required.

Who are we looking for?

You will have:

  • City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant trade;
  • current Gas Safe registration and ACS qualifications including a minimum of
    • CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 and CPA;
  • G3 – Domestic Unvented Hot Water;
  • experience using combustion analysers and interpreting the results;
  • strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across domestic heating systems;
  • good understanding of gas safety legislation and compliance requirements;
  • experience in carrying out plumbing works and repairs;
  • experience working in occupied homes, ideally within a social housing environment;
  • confidence using digital job management and mobile working technology; and
  • a full, clean UK driving licence.

A basic disclosure check is required for this role. Experience of working in social housing and occupied properties is desirable.

Depending on the work pattern, you will be required to participate in our out of hours on-call service.
