We have an exciting new vacancy for a Kitchen Porter to join our team at The Palace Hotel in Buxton. This 186-bedroom hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Buxton town centre, directly opposite Buxton train station. Main Responsibilities
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas
Wash dishes, utensils, pots and pans efficiently and in line with hygiene regulations
Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored correctly
Keep floors, work surfaces and storage areas clean and tidy
Dispose of waste correctly and efficiently
Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy periods
Receive and put away deliveries in accordance with health and safety standards
Personal specification:
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Be able to work in a physically demanding role (standing for long periods, lifting, carrying)
Ability to work as part of a team
Good time management and reliability
Basic understanding of food hygiene (training can be provided)
Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends & holidays
Shifts
Due to the nature of the business the right candidate must be flexible with shifts: Early morning & Evening shifts.
