Mechanical QA Inspector

Ambitek are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical QA Inspector for work based in Birkenhead. We are looking for a time-served Mechanical Fitter who has progressed into a quality-focused role. Candidates must have a strong background in heavy engineering and mechanical assembly. Ideal candidates will have previous shipyard or marine experience, however applicants from other heavy engineering sectors will also be considered, particularly those experienced working on large machinery, rotating equipment, or heavy mechanical systems. Duties will include: • Mechanical inspection and quality assurance activities • Checking completed mechanical assemblies against drawings and specifications • Conducting dimensional and visual inspections • Identifying and reporting defects and non-conformances • Working closely with production and engineering teams • Ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards Requirements: • Time-served Mechanical Fitter apprenticeship • Previous QA/QC or inspection experience within heavy engineering • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings • Strong understanding of mechanical assembly processes • Shipyard experience desirable but not essential This is a PAYE position only: Basic Pay: £23.12 per hour Overtime 1: x1.5 - £34.68 Overtime 2: x2 - £44.32 ***LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY PLEASE, CLIENT NOT SUPPLYING DIGS
