We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Psychologist to support the delivery of high-acuity CAMHS, complex care, and IMHS community placements across a growing specialist service.

This role will provide psychological leadership and therapeutic oversight across multiple complex packages supporting children and young people with autism, ADHD, trauma, learning disabilities, emotional and behavioural needs, mental health presentations, and histories of placement breakdown.

The successful candidate will work closely alongside Operations, Clinical Leads, Psychiatry, PBS, and frontline teams to ensure placements remain stable, therapeutic, and psychologically informed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead psychological formulation for complex placements
  • Provide therapeutic oversight and intervention planning
  • Support reduction of incidents, restraints, self-harm, and placement breakdowns
  • Deliver reflective practice and clinical debriefs for staff teams
  • Support development of trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming environments
  • Work collaboratively within MDT structures including Psychiatry, Nursing, PBS, and Operations
  • Support service managers with behavioural and emotional risk management
  • Contribute to clinical governance, restrictive practice reviews, and outcome tracking
  • Deliver staff training around trauma, autism, attachment, emotional regulation, and behavioural distress
  • Support transitions, stabilisation plans, and complex referrals

Experience Required

  • HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist
  • Experience within CAMHS, complex care, forensic, residential, inpatient, or community services
  • Strong understanding of autism, ADHD, trauma, attachment, and behavioural distress
  • Experience supporting high-risk or high-acuity young people
  • Ability to work within fast-paced and evolving complex care environments
  • Strong MDT and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience within xwzovoh Tier 4 CAMHS or community step-down services
  • Experience supporting DoLS or restrictive practice environments
  • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • Experience supporting staff teams within residential or community settings
