Content Designer

Location: Newcastle/Scotland, UK (Hybrid)

We’re hiring a Content Designer to create clear, accessible, user‑focused content for digital public services.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between stakeholders, UCD teams, and delivery groups.
• Ensure content decisions are grounded in evidence.
• Support agile ways of working and drive a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Partner with product and design teams to shape content strategy for user journeys and service outcomes.
• Advise on plain language and accessibility standards.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or creating content for digital services using user‑centred design approaches.
• Strong writing, editing, and information structuring skills.
• Knowledge of plain language and accessibility standards.
• Experience using content management systems and digital publishing tools.
• Ability to interpret user research, analytics, and feedback to improve content.
• Experience working in agile or iterative delivery environments.
• Understanding of how content supports user journeys and service outcomes.
• Any background in government, public‑sector or fintech fully welcome.
