Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist - Psychiatry CMHT

PRINCIPLE DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

The post holder will be expected to:

• Deliver a high standard of inpatient care, contributing to service development as appropriate. Provide professional leadership including clinical supervision to the medical team and to provide clinical leadership to the MDT. Assess and treat patients as a member of the multidisciplinary team in keeping with the principles of ‘New Ways of Working’. Work with consultants in the mental health directorate and their teams to ensure appropriate management of patients where appropriate. Develop a close working relationship with colleagues in the acute hospital and participate in regular interface meetings. Ensure effective liaison with other agencies including the voluntary and statutory sectors as appropriate. To assist with the further development of training and education for trust staff across a range of directorates.
