We embrace unique perspectives and empower each person to grow through professional development, career training and mentoring programs.Our people are our most important asset, and we are very proud of the quality of our team members.Job Summary:This position is responsible for underwriting a diverse book of business, employing the methods necessary to meet projected profitability, GWP, and expense goals, management and growth of the overall portfolio of the LATAM business within the appropriate underwriting discipline/guidelines, marketing and servicing of existing and potential insured’s.Duties and Responsibilities:Perform general underwriting functions including submission review, pricing analysis, setting terms and conditions, and quote/binder/invoice authorizationsEnsure timely and correct issuance of bound policiesCraft endorsement wordings for legal authorizationProvide direction to Underwriting Support Assistant for timely processing of policy/endorsement wordingsPerform referrals with VP Casualty and SVP Casualty as requiredMaintain underwriting files and reporting systems according to guidelinesConsult with Actuarial Department for specific account pricing when appropriateLiaise with Claims Department on specific claim matters and market claim concernsStay current with industry issues and developmentsTravel to meetings throughout Ireland and Europe as requiredAssist in training underwriting and support staffComplete project work as requiredPlan and monitor business portfolioPerform other assigned dutiesQualifications:5 years experience underwriting Casualty accounts in the LATAM marketSpanish Speaking preferableBasic knowledge of underwriting Property accountsStrong marketing, negotiation and presentation skillsExcellent knowledge of standard market policy and endorsement wordingsThird level qualificationProfessional Insurance Designation (ACII/FCII) desirableStrong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workEffective interpersonal skills and teamwork abilityStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Excel and PowerPointGood knowledge of technical rating toolsWorking at Allied WorldOur team of over 1,650 professionals has deep expertise in the industry.
