We are seeking an experienced wordings professional to join a well-established global insurance firm in London. Reporting to the Head of Wordings, you will provide specialist technical support to underwriting, claims and other stakeholders, ensuring policy documentation is clear, accurate, commercially appropriate and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and agree policy wordings, clauses and contractual documentation.
• Ensure documentation aligns with legal, regulatory, reinsurance and internal governance requirements.
• Partner with underwriters, brokers and third parties on new and amended wordings.
• Provide expert advice, guidance and constructive challenge on complex wording matters.
• Identify contractual and market issues and develop practical, commercially focused solutions.
• Support underwriting and claims teams on technical wording issues and claims outcomes.
• Contribute to product development, market research and emerging market practice.
• Ensure compliance with Lloyd's requirements and market best practice.
• Support regulatory reviews and promote fair customer outcomes.
• Contribute to training and the development of wording capability across the business.

About you

You will bring strong technical expertise, commercial judgement and a collaborative approach, with:

• Significant experience in insurance wordings and contracts.
• Strong knowledge of London Market and reinsurance practices.
• Experience with multi-jurisdictional business, including US surplus lines and non-admitted risks.
• Confidence engaging with Lloyd's, regulators and external stakeholders.
• A good understanding of underwriting and claims.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. xwzovoh
