Design Manager Location: Slough (Hybrid Flexibility Available need to be 1 hour from Slough) Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 DOE Job Type: Permanent Poolhall Recruitment is recruiting for a Design Manager to support the delivery of complex structural, industrial, and large-scale construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced design professional looking to progress their career within a technically focused role, working on challenging projects with genuine long-term development opportunities. While the role is primarily office-based, there is flexibility for hybrid working depending on experience and level of autonomy. Candidates should be located within approximately one hour of the Slough office to support collaboration, project meetings, and business needs. Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, and specialist subcontractors. Oversee design programmes, technical queries, design changes, and approvals. Identify and mitigate design-related risks and issues. Stakeholder Management Act as the key link between design, commercial, and site teams. Ensure design information is issued accurately and on time. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to maintain project delivery objectives. Support project teams with technical advice and design solutions. Quality & Compliance Review designs for compliance with specifications, regulations, and industry standards. Conduct design reviews, technical checks, and audits. Undertake site visits to ensure construction aligns with approved designs. Promote best practice in design management and coordination processes. Client & Project Support Understand client requirements and project constraints. Develop practical, cost-effective, and buildable design solutions. Support project delivery through effective communication and issue resolution. About You Degree (BEng/MEng) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Previous experience as a Design Manager, Assistant Design Manager, Design Coordinator, or similar role within construction. Experience working on structural, industrial, commercial, or large-scale construction projects. Understanding of BIM processes and design coordination methodologies. Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Proactive and solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Able to commute to the Slough office and be based within approximately one hour of the location. Desirable Experience within industrial fit-out, structural steel, reinforced concrete, or multi-storey developments. Knowledge of design management software and construction delivery processes.
