Job Overview

JR PAT Testing is rapidly expanding across the UK and is seeking experienced PAT Engineers to join our team in Moyle as self‑employed contractors.

Self‑employed engineers must provide their own insurance and maintain calibrated equipment. In return, we provide an engineer handbook, service contract, branded clothing, labels and technical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct portable appliance testing (PAT) in a variety of settings such as hospitals, retail outlets, offices, and other workplaces.
• Use appropriate test instruments to verify the safety of electrical appliances (e.g., microwaves, kettles, computers).
• Record test results in a PAT test report book or electronic system and provide employers with copies.
• Provide completion certificates and checklists where required.
• Inform users of results and explain any appliances deemed unfit for use.
• Manage travel to and between job sites, ensuring all tools and equipment are transported safely and are up to date.

Qualifications & Requirements

• City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
• Proof of valid insurance and calibrated equipment at least once a year.
• Reliable, honest, and a self‑motivated individual with a “can‑do” attitude.
• Good organisational skills; able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Commuting distance within Moyle or ability to travel nationally.

• Employment type: self‑employed contractor.
• Location: Moyle, with reasonable commuting distance or nationwide travel as required.
• Salary: Negotiated on a pro‑rata basis per appliance, number of tests and job dynamics.
• Hours: Flexible – part‑time or full‑time possible.
