CME Co-Ordinator

Your new company Due to the partnership between Hays and Birmingham City Council, we are looking to recruit a CME Co-ordinator to join their Children and Families team. Your new role This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in safeguarding vulnerable children and ensuring that every school-aged child within Birmingham is identified, supported and able to access their right to education.As the Children Missing Education Co-ordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day management of CME casework, ensuring vulnerable children are identified and located promptly through effective use of referral management systems and national tracking databases. You will supervise CME Officers, allocate casework, provide advice on complex safeguarding matters, monitor case trends and outcomes, and ensure compliance with statutory guidance and local safeguarding procedures. Working closely with schools, partners and agencies, you will help strengthen collaborative approaches to identifying children who are out of sight and support the development of strategic information-sharing arrangements. You will also contribute to training delivery, quality assurance activity, policy development and regional initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for children missing education. What you'll need to succeed We are looking for a proactive and organised professional with experience of working with vulnerable children, young people and families within education, safeguarding or children's services. You will have a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, multi-agency working and the challenges faced by children who are missing education. You will be confident supervising staff, managing complex and sensitive cases, analysing information and building effective partnerships with schools and external agencies. Excellent communication, decision-making and organisational skills are essential, along with a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people. As this role will involve working with children, an Enhanced Children's DBS will be required.
