Slinger / Signaller 📍 Barrow-in-Furness 💰 Competitive Rate 📅 Long-term contract We are looking for experienced Slingers / Signallers to support major defence and shipbuilding programmes in Barrow. The Role Carry out slinging and signalling duties for lifting operations Safely prepare, secure and guide loads during crane operations Select and use appropriate lifting accessories and equipment Support vessel, production and manufacturing activities Follow lift plans, procedures and site safety requirements Assist with confined space and permit-controlled activities where trained Support vessel care, preservation and temporary protection Complete relevant documentation and quality checks Work closely with crane operators, supervisors and production teams Requirements Previous Slinger / Signaller experience in shipbuilding, engineering, construction or heavy industry Valid Slinger / Signaller certification Strong understanding of safe lifting and load-handling practices Ability to interpret lifting documentation and work instructions Strong commitment to safety and quality Good communication and teamwork skills Desirable Qualifications Confined Space Care & Protection Forklift MEWP / Cherry Picker / Scissor Lift Full UK Driving Licence Shipyard or vessel movement experienceLong-term opportunity | Barrow-in-Furness | Major defence programme Successful candidates will be required to meet relevant security clearance and pre-employment screening requirements
