The role
As Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, you'll provide clinical leadership for our 12-bed inpatient unit, supporting young people with complex mental health needs while helping develop the next generation of CAMHS services.
You’ll:
- Lead specialist assessment, formulation and treatment planning for young people aged 13–18
- Provide clinical leadership to a skilled multidisciplinary team
- Work closely with families, carers and partner agencies to deliver person-centred care
- Supervise junior doctors and contribute to teaching, audit and quality improvement
- Participate in the Consultant on-call rota (1:9) with compensatory rest
- Help shape the future direction of inpatient CAMHS across Sussex

Our Children & Young People's Inpatient Mental Health Unit is entering an exciting new phase of development, focused on innovation, collaboration and delivering outstanding care for young people experiencing acute mental health difficulties.

What we're looking for
We're seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist who has:
- GMC Specialist Registration (or within six months of entry)
- Approved Clinician status (or ability to obtain)
- Expertise in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- A collaborative leadership style and commitment to multidisciplinary working
- Experience in teaching, quality improvement and service development
