Yard / Warehouse Operative Location: Glasgow Salary: Up to £30,000 Employment Type: Permanent / Full time About the Client Simon Acres Group LTD are representing a well-established supplier within the building materials sector. About the Role This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a key part in the day-to-day warehouse and yard operations, ensuring stock is received, stored, picked, and loaded accurately and efficiently while supporting a high standard of customer service. Key Responsibilities Receive and store goods accurately in the correct warehouse or yard locations. Prepare customer orders in line with sales requirements and load them onto vehicles. Sign for deliveries and report any damaged or broken stock. Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock control activities. Keep the warehouse and yard clean, organised, and safe. Carry out daily checks on forklifts and other handling equipment, ensuring they remain in safe working condition. Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture. Build positive relationships with customers at collection and returns points. Support stocktaking activities and work overtime when required. Requirements / Skills Valid Forklift Licence. Good numeracy skills and attention to detail. Basic IT competency and accurate data entry skills. Strong understanding of health and safety procedures. Previous warehouse or yard experience is advantageous. Flexible and adaptable approach to work. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
