Consultant Histopathologist - South Wales

Permanent or 12-month fixed-term contract

I’m supporting a major NHS pathology service in South Wales with the appointment of a Consultant Histopathologist .

This is a strong opportunity for a Consultant who would like to join a large, well-established Cellular Pathology department delivering a mix of local, regional and specialist diagnostic services.

The service is UKAS-accredited and is undergoing continued development towards more integrated cellular-molecular pathology, supporting genomic medicine, precision diagnostics and specialist reporting pathways.

• Permanent or 12-month fixed-term contract options
• Broad surgical pathology and cytopathology workload
• Opportunity to contribute to MDTs and regional specialist services
• Support for subspecialty interests, teaching, audit, governance and CPD
• Flexible working approach, including scope for home reporting
• Autopsy work optional

The successful doctor will ideally have:

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register, or within 6 months of CCT
• CCT in Histopathology, or equivalent
• FRCPath, or equivalent
• Strong diagnostic, MDT, governance and team-working experience

This could suit either an established Consultant Histopathologist or a senior doctor approaching CCT who is looking for a substantive or fixed-term NHS Consultant opportunity in South Wales .
