Care Assistant/Housekeeping  – Days & Nights – Residential Care | AV1994 Full Time | 35 Hours Per Week | Residential Care Location: Allendale, Northumberland Pay: £13.50 per hour ☕ Paid Breaks Included Family-Owned | Stand-Alone Service | 12 Residents | Learning Disabilities & Complex Needs Are you a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a small, friendly care home where you can really make a difference? We are recruiting Healthcare Assistants to join a well-established, family-owned residential care service in Allendale, Northumberland. With over 30 years of experience, this stand-alone home provides specialist residential care for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, supporting just 13 residents in a warm, homely environment. Working in a smaller service allows you to build meaningful relationships with residents, provide truly person-centred care, and become part of a supportive and close-knit team. Shift Pattern This is a full-time role averaging 35 hours per week, working a rolling rota of: Week 1: 3 shifts Week 2: 2 shifts Day Shift 8:00am – 6:00pm Night Shift 6:00pm – 8:00pm (evening support) Sleep-in: 10:00pm – 5:00am During night shifts, you will also complete approximately 1–2 hours of cleaning duties to help maintain the home's high standards of cleanliness and comfort. About the Service This welcoming residential home offers: Specialist care for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs Accommodation for 13 residents Long-term placements and short-term respite care A safe, homely, and supportive environment Individualised care plans focused on dignity, independence, and choice Activities that promote wellbeing, confidence, social interaction, and independence Your Responsibilities As a Healthcare Assistant, you will: Deliver high-quality, person-centred care Support residents with personal care and daily living activities Promote dignity, independence, and choice Provide emotional support and companionship Assist with mobility and wellbeing Maintain accurate care records Encourage participation in activities and social interaction Complete light housekeeping and approximately 1–2 hours of cleaning during night shifts to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents What We're Looking For Previous experience in a care setting is preferred NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable A caring, patient, and professional approach Excellent communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities What You'll Receive £13.50 per hour Paid breaks Full-time contract averaging 35 hours per week Flexible rota with a mix of day and night shifts Supportive, family-run working environment Stable, long-term employment The opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of residents every day If you're looking to join a small, friendly care home where your commitment and compassion will be genuinely appreciated, we'd love to hear from you.
