Senior High Voltage EngineerSummaryJoin a leading organisation in London as a Senior High Voltage Engineer, specialising in the design and delivery of high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) infrastructure projects. This role is perfect for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in substation design and multidisciplinary project delivery. You’ll play a key role in developing innovative solutions for energy infrastructure projects while working with some of the most respected experts in the industry.Location and Working PatternLondon-based, primarily office-based with regular client meetings, workshops and site visits across Ireland, the UK and Europe.Client OverviewOur client is a global company expanding its Energy Infrastructure capabilities. They deliver complex engineering projects across a range of industries, focusing on innovation, quality and sustainability.ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery of HV and MV infrastructure projects, including AIS/GIS substations, grid connection infrastructure and interconnectorsDevelop and review single line diagrams, substation layouts, protection and control philosophies, and HV cable systemsManage and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, including internal engineers, external consultants and subcontractorsInterface directly with clients, utilities, contractors and regulatory bodiesSupport the development of technical standards, team recruitment and mentoring initiativesReview technical studies such as load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, harmonics and earthing studiesOversee project planning, tendering and technical bid reviewsConduct site visits, inspections and commissioning activities as requiredMust‑have RequirementsDegree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent8–15+ years’ experience in HV/MV electrical engineeringProven track record in delivering HV substation projects up to 400kVStrong knowledge of IEC, BS, EN and IS standardsExperience in substation design principles and utility/grid connection requirementsFamiliarity with design software and tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, PowerFactory and PSCADExcellent communication, reporting and client engagement skillsNice‑to‑have SkillsChartered Engineer status (or working towards)Prior experience in consultancy environmentsExperience managing or coordinating engineering teamsKnowledge of technical standards and procedure developmentBenefitsDetails will be shared upon application.Apply NowIf you’re ready to take on an impactful senior role within a growing HV engineering team, we’d love to hear from you.
