Job Description
An exciting opportunity at a luxury hotel near Edinburgh Waverley station, which is currently looking for an Assistant Chief Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
Job Duties
- Assist the Chief Engineer to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations within the maintenance and engineering department.
- Maintain building systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Ensure full compliance with industry standards and internal regulations, including statutory requirements related to building operations.
- Support health and safety standards to provide a safe environment for all occupants.
- Test and maintain emergency lighting in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Legionella awareness and relevant health and safety legislation.
- Supervise and coordinate preventive maintenance work and conduct regular safety and maintenance inspections across the hotel.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors to ensure services are delivered efficiently and to the highest quality under the guidance of the Chief Engineer.
Job Requirements
- Proven 3 years of experience as an assistant maintenance engineer in a luxury hotel environment (ideally qualified in plumbing or electrical engineering).
- Proficient use of maintenance and building management systems.
- Extensive technical knowledge in air conditioning, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
- A strong commitment to delivering excellence and ensuring quality service in all interactions.
- Teamwork and collaboration are essential for providing seamless service to our clients and ensuring that we meet our goals.
- Excellent customer service skills and strong problem‑solving abilities.
Job Location
Near Edinburgh Waverley Station, EH1 3EG, United Kingdom.

Team Structure
- Reports directly to the Chief Engineer.
