Acoustic Engineer
London | £38,000-£42,000 + benefits
A well-established engineering consultancy is looking for an Acoustic Engineer to join its London team.
This is a good opportunity for someone with experience in building acoustics who wants to work on a varied range of projects and continue developing their technical and client-facing experience.
The team works closely with architects, MEP engineers and other consultants, so the role will suit someone who enjoys being involved in projects from the early design stages through to completion.
The role
Day to day, the successful candidate will be involved in a mix of acoustic design, site work and technical reporting. Projects are varied and can include commercial, residential, hospitality, cultural and other specialist developments.
Responsibilities are likely to include:
Carrying out acoustic surveys and site measurements
Producing calculations, assessments and technical reports
Supporting acoustic design work across a range of projects
Using acoustic modelling and analysis software
Working alongside architects, engineers and wider project teams
Attending site visits and project meetings
Providing practical technical advice to clients and colleagues
Managing their own workload while receiving support from senior members of the team
What they're looking for
They are looking for someone with experience in acoustic consultancy, ideally with a focus on building acoustics.
The successful candidate is likely to have:
A degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics or a related subject
Experience working within an acoustic consultancy or engineering environment
Experience carrying out acoustic surveys and assessments
A good understanding of building acoustics
Strong report-writing and communication skills
The ability to work well as part of a wider project team
A proactive approach and an interest in continuing to develop professionally
