Operations Manager

Overview Highly successful SME, International, Electronics Manufacturing company are now looking to recruit a motivated & experienced Operations Manager to undertake a challenging, office based, position at newly refurbished premises, based in Slough. About the role Reporting to the UK Managing Director the Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, purchasing, supply chain and quality control. The Operations Manager will adopt a forward thinking, strategic approach to ensue that the organisation can meet customer demand within a highly challenging and dynamic market. Key duties include: * Manage the company production department with full responsibility for labour and material planning * Oversee the purchasing function requiring direct negotiation with key suppliers and ensuring full visibility regarding product or material shortfalls and predicted lead times. * Undertake full control of the supply chain and inventory function to maintain a consistent flow of required components and an efficient manufacturing process. * Drive continuous improvements within the Operations team to improve efficiency, flexibility, and quality across all areas * Setting team objectives and personal development plans for a team of 12 * Oversee product testing, fault finding and customer returns * Implement performance KPIs across the production, purchasing and supply chain functions * Prepare business cases for suggested efficiency improvement projects * Implement and manage corporate Health & Safety policy About you: You will Degree educated, ideally within an Electronics or Engineering discipline and have a proven track record within the Electronics Manufacturing sector In addition you will have have gained senior level Operations experience that has encompassed management of both the Purchasing and Production functions The successful applicant will have experience using a modern MRP system for the sourcing and production of Electronic components What's on offer * Competitive salary and attractive bonus scheme * Medical insurance * Flexible hours * 25 days holiday * On-site parking * Life assurance
