An award winning South Wales law firm is looking to recruit a Public Law and Human Rights Solicitor to join its growing team in Swansea.

You will join a collaborative team where client care, professional development and shared success are at the heart of the firm’s culture.

The Role

  • Manage your own caseload of public law, human rights and judicial review matters.
  • Advise and represent clients in legally aided cases involving public authorities.
  • Assist with inquest work, including Article 2 inquests where appropriate.
  • Prepare cases, draft applications and attend hearings.
  • Work alongside colleagues across Legal Aid and private client teams to deliver a seamless service for clients.
  • Develop relationships with local organisations, charities and referral partners across Swansea and the wider South Wales community.
  • Play an active role in promoting the department and supporting its continued growth.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor with experience in public law, human rights and or inquests.
  • Experience of managing legally aided matters is essential.
  • Legal Aid Supervisor status.
  • Confident managing your own caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Passionate about access to justice and achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable clients.
  • Excellent communication, advocacy and client care skills.
  • A collaborative approach with a desire to contribute to a positive and supportive working environment.
