Job Overview:The Senior Manager Project Engineering is tasked with the development of departmental plans, including business, production, and/or organizational priorities. The role requires multi-disciplinary expertise and the ability to understand the industry to achieve financial and operational objectives. The Senior Manager Project Engineering manages multiple related teams, sets their organizational priorities, and allocates the appropriate resources. They must be able to identify and resolve a range of complex technical, operational, and organizational problems. The role directly impacts business results by supporting and function-specific projects, products, services, and/or technologies, and developing policies and plans.

Essential Qualifications and Education:Advanced degree from an accredited university in an engineering discipline20+ years of experience and proven leadership experience in Project Engineering and/or Engineering Management experience Preferably Registered Engineer or member of professional engineering society as applicable Demonstrate a broad technical knowledge of detailed design engineering codes and standardsFamiliar with detailed engineering and design work procedures and processesAble to read and understand contractual documentationAble to effectively communicate with and lead engineers and non-engineers Field assignment experienceExperience in International ProjectsExperience with multi-office (MOPEX) executionExperience in execution as part of a Joint Venture or Consortium GroupExperience developing proposals and contractual documentationExperience acting in a PMT role for projectsExperience in revamping (Brownfield) and grassroots (Greenfield) projects #LI-SJ1#LI-HybridKey Tasks and Responsibilities:Manage the engineering scope of a projectEstablish and implement project procedures to ensure deliverables meet quality and technical content requirements through contract documentsManage the technical execution to support the business considerations established for the project Responsible for the administration and technical management of the department Assign staffing for the Project Engineering positions on projects and proposalsInstill and promote “Safety as a Value” culture Administrative and technical management of the Project Engineering Department:Establish a budget and salary plan for the departmentIdentify and recruit staff for Project Engineering positionsMaintain staffing levels appropriate to the projected workloadProvide leadership and training for the professional development of staffIdentify and correct performance gapsMaintain Company processes and procedures related to Project ExecutionAllocate resources to provide quality, on time and cost-effective deliverables for projects and proposalsResponsible for the integrity of the work producedResponsible for cost, schedule, quantity, and budget controlEnsure work is being coordinated with the other departments, offices, fabrication, and construction to meet project requirementsEnsure proactive and effective management of change Monitor project performance and provide input and support as requiredParticipate in monthly Project ReviewsExecute Project Engineering Assessment (PEA) for Project Engineering Support proposal developmentSupport the Lessons Learned process and continuous improvement initiatives of the companyOwn and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and proceduresEnsure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and proceduresEnsure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams Reports to: Project: N/A Functional: Director of Engineering Liaise with: Project Engineer, PEM, PM, Discipline Lead Engineers, Eng Dept Managers, Construction/Fabrication team, Project Controls, Finance, Proposals Supervises: Project Engineering Team, Manager of Project EngineeringFull timePosting Date: 2026-02-12
