Mechanical Fitter
Location: Dartford / South East London
Position: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities
*
Installation & Repair: Assemble, install, and commission mechanical equipment, including pumps, screens, pipework, and valves.
*
Maintenance: Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on pumping systems and respond efficiently to emergency shutdown works.
*
Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic technology (e.g., vibration sensors, infra-red cameras) to ensure system integrity, safety, and compatibility.
*
Technical Literacy: Interpret mechanical drawings, station schematics, and site blueprints with high accuracy.
*
Safety First: Complete Point of Work Risk Assessments and adhere strictly to site RAMS to ensure a safe working environment.
Candidate Requirements
The Essentials:
*
Qualifications: Successfully completed a Modern Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
*
Experience: Proven hands-on background in an on-site engineering or industrial environment.
*
Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of pumps, pipework, screens, and motors.
*
Safety: Must hold a valid CSCS Card (or equivalent).
*
Education: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
The "Nice-to-Haves" (Advantageous but not essential):
*
EUSR Water Hygiene / Sewage or High-Risk Confined Spaces certification.
*
PASMA / IPAF / Abrasive Wheels training
