A leading national law firm is looking to appoint an Associate Solicitor to join its highly regarded Complex Injury team in Southampton.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop their career within catastrophic and complex injury litigation, working alongside experienced lawyers on a high-value caseload for major insurer clients.
You will gain exposure to a broad range of high-value, multi-track and catastrophic injury claims, including brain and spinal injuries, amputations and fatal claims across EL, PL and RTA matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and assisting with a caseload of complex, high-value and catastrophic injury claims
- Progressing claims from initial instruction through to settlement or trial
- Analysing complex liability, medical and quantum evidence
- Preparing chronologies and identifying key issues and anomalies within evidence
- Assisting with the valuation of high-value claims, including use of the Ogden Tables
- Drafting technical advice on indemnity, liability, causation, quantum and litigation strategy
- Taking witness statements and interviewing witnesses
- Drafting pleadings, applications and other legal documentation
- Instructing counsel and attending conferences, JSMs, mediations and trials
- Building strong relationships with insurer clients, insured parties, experts and other stakeholders
- Supporting and delegating work to junior team members
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience handling or assisting with high-value, multi-track personal injury claims
- Exposure to indemnity, liability and quantum issues
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to xwzovoh analyse complex evidence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A sound understanding of the litigation process, court rules and relevant case law
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines
- A professional and client-focused approach
