This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?
As our Procurement Manager you'll report to the Head of Procurement. Work closely with divisional and project stakeholders to lead subcontract procurement activities, ensuring compliance, value, efficiency, and alignment with organisational standards and ESG commitments. You'll be covering all of our Southern contract and Wales.
Key responsibilities include identifying and delivering cost savings, managing competitive sourcing activities (RFQs and ITTs), negotiating and awarding subcontracts, and ensuring contracts are delivered within budget, timescales, and compliance requirements.
You'll be responsible for building and managing supplier relationships, monitoring performance, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining continuity of supply. It also includes evaluating tenders and quotations, managing supplier onboarding and pre-qualification, and maintaining an approved supply base with current accreditations, insurance, and financial checks.
Working closely with Commercial, Operations, and other internal teams, you'll support governance frameworks, ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures, mitigate supply and commercial risks, and maintain a forward pipeline of subcontract opportunities to secure resource capacity.
The role also involves developing procurement processes and Supplier Relationship Management programmes, analysing subcontract spend, and producing accurate reporting on pipeline, supplier performance, and savings achievements.
What you’ll bring
Proven experience in subcontract procurement, including NEC3 and NEC4 subcontract forms and bespoke client contracts.
Expertise in scoping, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract placement.
Proficiency in procurement technologies (e.g., ERP systems) and MS Office tools, especially Excel.
Strong organisational, data analysis, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects effectively.
Working knowledge of relevant procurement and contract legislation and prompt-payment obligations
Familiarity with finance, stock management, or commercial systems.
Professional certifications such as MCIPS, CIPS, or a degree in supply chain management or business.
