Production Operative - Nights
Shift Pattern - Monday - Thursday 15:45 - 01:30
To manufacture and machine various assemblies using recognised trade skills under the supervision of a Team Leader. Producing quality finished components to drawings and routing requirements that meet Aerospace standards.
Production Operative Must Have:
* Experience in manfacturing industy
* Experience working on lathes, milling and drilling machines.
Production Operative KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assembling and welding using a resistance/seam welding machine to customer requirements using various metals and hand skills (stainless steel, titanium, Inconel)
* Assembling and welding using automated TIG welding machine to customer requirements using various metals and hand skills (stainless steel, titanium, Inconel)
* Forming & trimming bellows on fully automated, semi-automated and manual bellows forming machine
* To work with the laboratory to ensure that weld test is sufficient
* To work to drawing and route cards requirements
* To obtain and maintain Operator verification approval stamps
* To work efficiently within agreed standards
* To assist in introducing new techniques and improved methods of working where possible
* To be responsible for general housekeeping and tidiness on the shop
* To bring forward ideas to improve and reduce costs in production where possible
* To be conversant with all relevant AWPS and operating procedures used on the above job description
* To be familiar with the Health and Safety and Fire policies for the company and to attend mandatory updates where required
* Flexible attitude towards work/teamwork
Production Operative KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Secondary school qualifications (English and Maths), with a combination of relevant experience. Additional vocational training and certifications in a related field is desirable.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Demonstrated ability working with various hand tools.
* Able to interpret drawings and routing instructions.
* Ability to problem solve and work with wider team to develop continuous improvement ideas.
* Effective communication and written skills
