Job Title: Deputy Team Manager - Adult Social Care
Location: Milton Keynes Council, Civic Offices, Central Milton Keynes
Rate: £40 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Office-based with up to 2 days working from home
Role Overview
Milton Keynes Council is seeking an experienced Deputy Team Manager - Adult Social Care to support frontline operational delivery within a busy assessment and duty environment.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring effective case allocation, workload management, and professional oversight within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Supervising social workers and social work assistants
Allocating and prioritising cases effectively
Managing and monitoring waiting lists
Attending professionals' meetings and multi-agency discussions
Holding case discussions and providing practice guidance
Supporting service delivery within a busy Adult Social Care environment
Candidate Requirements
Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
SWE registration (or eligible to register)
Significant experience in Adult Social Care
Previous supervisory or team management experience
Strong understanding of assessment, safeguarding, and duty processes
