About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and multi-skilled Electro-Mechanical Maintenance and Services Manager to join our team at our fast-paced manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and working within a small team having the primary responsibility of ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of all plant machinery and production equipment through proactive maintenance, rapid fault finding, and effective repair.

Essential Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate must be competent electrically and mechanically and possess the following:
Core Engineering Competence
Manufacturing Background (Essential): Proven, significant hands-on experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a high-volume manufacturing, production, or industrial environment. This includes familiarity with maintaining continuous running plant and adhering to strict production schedules.
Strong Electro-Mechanical Skills: Demonstrated high level of competence in both electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex production machinery.
Electrical Fault Finding: Expert ability to diagnose and rectify faults on PLC-controlled systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), motor control circuits, variable speed drives (VSDs), contactors, sensors, and general three-phase power systems.
Mechanical Expertise: Proficient in the maintenance, repair, and alignment of power transmission systems (gearboxes, chains, belts), pneumatic systems, hydraulic circuits, pumps, conveyors, and precision mechanical assemblies.
Hands-on Engineering Experience: Proven track record of carrying out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance tasks to minimise machine downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
Technical and Operational Skills
Safety Focus: Thorough understanding and adherence to industrial safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout procedures , isolation protocols, and working safely with high-voltage systems.
Diagnostic Proficiency: Excellent ability to interpret and work from technical drawings, electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and maintenance manuals to diagnose complex faults quickly and accurately.
Continuous Improvement: Experience in identifying and implementing engineering improvements and modifications to machinery to enhance performance, reliability, and yield.
Attitude and Environment
Willingness to Work in Different Environments: Ability and willingness to work flexibly across various site areas, which may include working at height, in confined spaces, or in varying temperature/dust environments, adapting quickly to operational demands.
Teamwork and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with production staff, other engineers, and management regarding maintenance issues and planned work schedules. xwzovoh
Qualifications
Recognised Engineering Qualification: Must possess a recognised qualification (e.g., HNC/HND, City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering Qualification .
A valid UK Driving Licence and IPAF licence would be desirable
