Senior Geophysicist - Seismic Processing

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geophysicist specializing in seismic processing to join their advanced, remote-first technical team. This role is crucial for enhancing the quality and interpretability of geophysical data, enabling more accurate subsurface understanding for exploration and development projects. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and quality controlling seismic data processing workflows, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize seismic data processing flows from raw data to final product, including pre-stack time and depth migration.
• Conduct quality control and assurance on processed seismic data, ensuring accuracy and geological relevance.
• Troubleshoot processing challenges and develop innovative solutions to improve data quality and resolution.
• Collaborate with geophysical interpreters and geologists to ensure processed data meets project requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend new seismic processing technologies and methodologies.
• Mentor junior geophysicists and contribute to the development of processing best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geophysics or a related quantitative field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in seismic data processing for oil and gas exploration.
• Expertise in seismic processing software (e.g., Schlumberger's ProMAX/Omega, ION's ACQUIRE, CGG's Jason).
• Strong understanding of seismic wave propagation, acquisition techniques, and migration algorithms.
• Proven ability to manage complex processing projects and deliver results on time and within budget.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a strong track record of remote collaboration.
