Principal Transport PlannerLocation: London | Hybrid WorkingSalary: 50,000 - 60,000 + Excellent BenefitsI'm working with one of the UK's largest independent transport planning consultancies, who are looking to strengthen their London team with an experienced Principal Transport Planner.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport planner looking to take the next step in their career, taking ownership of complex projects while providing technical leadership, developing client relationships and supporting the growth of the wider team.The RoleAs a Principal Transport Planner, you'll take a leading role in the delivery of a range of development-related transport projects, providing technical expertise and strategic advice to clients.Your responsibilities will include:Leading and managing complex development-related transport projectsPreparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Access AppraisalsDeveloping transport strategies and undertaking multi-modal trip generation, forecasting and scenario testingProviding technical guidance across transport planning and modellingUsing industry-standard software including TRICS, TEMPRO, Junctions and LinSigApplying relevant standards and guidance including MfS, DMRB, LTN 1/20, Active Travel guidance and Healthy Streets principlesManaging project teams, delegating tasks and overseeing quality, programme and budgetsLiaising with clients, local authorities and other stakeholdersRepresenting clients at meetings, consultations and public inquiries where requiredSupporting business development, bids and identifying new opportunitiesMentoring and developing junior and senior members of the teamAbout YouWe're looking for an experienced Transport Planner with a strong background in development-related transport planning and the ability to take technical ownership of projects.You should have:Extensive experience delivering Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Access AppraisalsStrong technical knowledge of transport planning, modelling and development proposalsExperience using TRICS, TEMPRO, Junctions, LinSig or similar softwareGood understanding of MfS, DMRB and LTN 1/20Experience managing projects and providing technical guidance to colleaguesStrong client and stakeholder management skillsExcellent communication and report-writing abilitiesA proactive and commercially aware approachThe ability to mentor and support more junior members of the teamMembership of a relevant professional body such as TPS, CIHT, ICE or CILT would be advantageous, as would chartership or working towards chartership.What's on Offer50,000 - 60,000 salaryPrivate Healthcare (self)Critical Illness CoverLife Assurance - 3x salaryDiscretionary bi-annual bonus25 days' holiday + bank holidays, increasing with long service5% employer pension contribution, increasing to 15% with long serviceProfessional development and training opportunitiesPayment of two professional subscriptionsHybrid and flexible workingOpportunity to work on a diverse range of high-profile projectsExcellent career progression within a growing independent consultancyGet in touch with Will Herman on 07581619823 if you are interested.Aldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality.
