Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant's Location: Croydon Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Long-term | Full-time (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm) We are recruiting a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant's to join a specialist independent school in Croydon on a long-term basis from April. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday during school hours. The school supports children aged 3–19 with severe and complex learning and communication needs, offering a structured, nurturing, and child-centred environment. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work within a specialist setting, supporting pupils to engage with learning, develop communication skills, and build confidence and independence. The Role: * Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex SEND * Supporting individualised learning programmes and sensory-based activities * Assisting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction * Supporting with personal care when required * Working closely with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff to meet pupil needs The Ideal Candidate: * Experience working with children with SEND including ADHD ASD etc is highly desirable * A patient, caring, and resilient approach to supporting learning * Confidence working with Early Years and primary-aged pupils * Willingness to support with personal care tasks * A strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare This is a rewarding opportunity for a SEND Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a positive impact within a specialist education setting and supporting children with additional needs to thrive.
