About the role

The Role We are looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, site-based role — not just sat behind a screen. You’ll be involved across the full lifecycle of our machines: • Software design and programming • Electrical build and panel assembly • R&D and development work • On-site installation and commissioning (UK & worldwide) No two days are the same. You’ll be working on bespoke machinery, solving real-world problems, and seeing your work come to life on customer sites. For someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and practical engineering, this is a genuinely interesting and rewarding role. This role offers genuine progression as our systems and product range continue to develop — with increasing involvement in design, innovation, and customer-facing engineering. Role & Responsibilities • The Controls engineering team are responsible for all existing machine designs & changes and are looking for another control system engineer to strengthen the team. • Proficient in Rockwell RSLogix5000 (or similar software), PLC, HMI and Motion control. • The ideal candidate will also be capable of Electrical Design with EPlan and AutoCAD. • Full Electrical Control Panel Assembly including, backplate layout and drilling, cutting trunking, cable labelling and wiring / testing. • The position will involve worldwide travel of up to 2 weeks at a time to support the installation of new machine designs on site. • This position will suit somebody making the next move on their career ladder and further career progression. • Graduates would be considered. • Good understanding of Machine Safety and working to a range of Standards. Skills & Experience • PLC Programming – Rockwell preferred • Motion Control • HMI Design • Software Design • Panel Building • Machine Wiring • Electrical Design • HND / Experience – Beneficial • Food Industry Experience – Beneficial Note: Controls and panel building/machine wiring will be approximately a 50/50 split. What It’s Like to Work Here We’re not a corporate environment — and we don’t pretend to be. • Small, experienced team where your work actually matters • Direct involvement in machine design, not just small pieces of it • Strong focus on R&D and continuous improvement • Real engineering challenges — not repetitive production work • Opportunity to travel and see your machines running in the real world • A business that values practical thinking and problem solving over theory If you enjoy: • Getting stuck in • Seeing things through from concept to commissioning • Working on genuinely bespoke equipment ...you’ll fit in here. This role is NOT for you if: • You only want a desk-based programming role • You don’t enjoy hands-on electrical work • You’re not open to occasional worldwide travel • You prefer repetitive production work over problem solving To apply please forward your cv in word format
