As a Lead Production Maintenance Engineer , you will take ownership of the maintenance function, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all machinery across the manufacturing facilities.

This is a hands-on leadership role , where you will organise, coordinate, and lead a small team of engineers , driving performance, prioritising workloads, and supporting production, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Youll be part of a small, supportive engineering team within a friendly, family-oriented company, with the opportunity to make a real impact on day-to-day operations and team development.

Key Responsibilities Lead, organise, and prioritise the daily activities of the maintenance team to ensure maximum equipment uptime and efficiency.

Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for bottling, filling, capping, labelling, and packaging machinery.

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.

Assist with installation and commissioning of new production equipment.

Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure high-quality output and compliance with specifications.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inventory of spare parts.

Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across all engineering activities.

Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to engineers, operators, and colleagues on equipment use and maintenance.

Support continuous improvement projects and drive operational enhancements.

What Theyre Looking For A degree, HNC, or HND in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline Proven experience in a lead or supervisory role , with the ability to organise and motivate a team Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, ideally with PLC knowledge (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron) Hands-on experience in liquid filling, bottling, or packaging operations Familiarity with CMMS systems for tracking maintenance activities Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and small-scale project management Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently when required Benefits Competitive salary up to £70k per annum (depending on experience) Discretionary annual bonus Pension scheme (currently 3%, under review) Medical Cash Plan including dental and GP access Life insurance (3x salary) 23 days annual leave 8 bank holidays (increasing with service) Christmas shutdown By applying to this job advertisement, you confirm you have read and understood our Data Privacy Statement and give Bolt Technical authorisation to hold your provided data.
