Your new role
Southend-on-Sea City Council is looking for reliable, customer-focused individuals to join our Integrated Equipment Service as a Driver / Equipment Fitter.
This is a unique opportunity to start or develop a career in Adult Social Care, supporting local residents to live safely and independently in their own homes.

About the role
As part of our busy equipment service team, you will:
Deliver and install essential equipment (e.g. beds, hoists, seating)
Support people recently discharged from hospital or needing care support
Work across the Southend area in homes and community settings
Interact with service users, carers and professionals in a respectful and supportive way
Ensure equipment is fitted safely and correctly
This is a hands-on, physical role where no two days are the same.

What you'll need to succeed
We are particularly keen to hear from people who are:
Good communicators - friendly, respectful and able to put people at ease
Practical and problem-solving - confident using tools or working hands-on
Reliable and organised - able to manage their time and workload
Team players - happy working as part of a supportive team
Interested in helping others - motivated by making a difference
You must:
Hold a full UK driving licence
Be comfortable working in people's homes
Be willing to undertake training in equipment fitting and safe working
No prior care experience? No problem
