C# / .NET | Desktop Applications | Cloud | Software Modernisation3 days per week onsiteThe OpportunityWe are looking for experienced Software Engineers and Senior Software Engineers to join a highly technical product engineering team developing and modernising complex, high-performance software applications.This is a hands-on individual contributor position. You will spend the majority of your time designing, developing and improving production software, while contributing to technical decisions, code reviews and architectural discussions.You will work closely with the Team Lead and Product Owner to turn complex requirements into reliable, scalable and maintainable software.This opportunity would suit an engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems and wants to remain deeply involved in software development rather than moving towards people management.What You'll Be DoingDesign, develop and maintain complex desktop and cloud-based applications using modern software engineering practicesWrite clean, maintainable and well-tested C#/.NET codeApply object-oriented principles, SOLID, design patterns and appropriate architectural approachesContribute to code reviews and technical discussionsWork closely with the Team Lead and Product Owner to translate requirements into effective technical solutionsIdentify technical risks, trade-offs and opportunities for improvementContribute to CI/CD and automated testing practicesHelp modernise and evolve established software productsUse AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot and code-generation/testing tools, where they add genuine valueEvaluate and adopt relevant technologies, frameworks and cloud servicesCommunicate technical concepts and challenges clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersWhat We're Looking For5 to 15 years' professional software engineering experienceStrong commercial experience with C#/.NETProven experience designing and delivering complex production-grade softwareExperience with desktop applications and/or cloud-based solutionsStrong understanding of object-oriented design, architecture and software engineering principlesExperience with design patterns, automated testing, version control and code reviewsExperience working within an Agile development environmentBachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical disciplineDesirable ExperienceYou don't need to have everything below, but experience in any of these areas would be valuable:Modernising legacy applications or mature codebasesC or C++ development and migrating existing code into modern technologiesAWS, Azure or Google Cloud PlatformBuilding or maintaining CI/CD pipelinesAI-assisted development tools such as GitHub CopilotModernising desktop applications and improving UI/UXPerformance optimisation of complex applicationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsWhy Join?You'll be joining a technically focused engineering environment where good ideas are encouraged, technical challenges are taken seriously and engineers have a genuine opportunity to influence the products they work on.The role offers the chance to work across established software, modern technologies and cloud platforms while remaining hands-on with the code.If you're an experienced C#/.NET engineer who enjoys building software, solving difficult technical problems and improving existing products, this could be a very good fit.Apply now to find out more.
