Practice Supervisor – Family Assessment and Support Team (FAST)

Salary: 48,738 to 53,051 per annum

Grade: M

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 per week

Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire

We have an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic, well-motivated Practice Supervisors to join the teams in the Scarborough area. You will be working in a team that is constantly trying to improve outcomes for safeguarding children and supporting their families.

About the role

The team is committed to work with children and their families/carers, using a range of solution focussed, strength-based relationship practice models, including Signs of Safety, Systemic theory and the Family Finding approach. We are looking for colleagues who can help us continue to offer a unique service and truly make a difference to the young people of our county.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily supervision to Social Workers
• Support risk management and decision-making
• Mentor colleagues and help develop their practice
• Lead on quality assurance and performance monitoring
• Chair multi-agency meetings and attend child protection conferences

What We’re Looking For

You should be a qualified Social Worker (DIPSW, CQSW, Masters, or Degree in Social Work), ideally with supervisory or management experience. You’ll need to demonstrate strong skills and knowledge aligned with the job specification.

Most importantly, you’ll have a genuine passion for working with young people and helping them build brighter futures.

It is an exciting time in Children and Young Peoples Services in North Yorkshire as we plan our approach in respect of the Families First Partnership Programme and how we will be responding to the social care reforms.
