We are recruiting a part time (24 hours per week) BSL Support Worker to join Stamford College on a term time basis.
We are seeking a dedicated Advanced Communication Support Worker to join our Specialist Support team at Stamford College.
In this rewarding role, you will support D/deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind students, helping them to fully access their learning. You will play a key role in promoting independence, confidence and successful outcomes for every learner you support.
What we would like our BSL Support Worker to do:
Provide high-quality communication support, including BSL interpretation where required
Adapting and simplifying information to support understanding
Supporting learners to stay engaged, motivated and confident
Working collaboratively with teaching staff to plan and adapt support strategies
Supporting the use of assistive technology and learning resources
Assisting with study skills such as note-taking, organisation and literacy
Supporting during exams as a reader, scribe or prompt where appropriate
Maintaining accurate records of support, progress and targets
Contributing to reviews and support planning, including EHCP outcomes
Supporting learners on trips, visits and work placements where required
We would love our BSL Support Worker to have:
Level 3 British Sign Language qualification
Experience supporting D/deaf or hard of hearing individuals
Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
